Artists' Journal Workshop

Sunday 24 June 2007, 2-4pm

Cost:$10

Bring your memories from a  travel adventure, some photos and ephemera*, along with a wire-bound  sketchbook, to being creating your own artists' journal. An artists' journal is somewhere between a diary and a scrapbook, and artfully done. The journal may include writing, images, whatever the artist/traveler/journeyer  wishes ....possibilities are endless. Other supplies and media will be available for your use, covered by a $10 supply fee. Space is limited.

This workshop will be facilitated by Brian Z, co-curator of the June 8-July 8,2007 exhibit "Wish you  were here." Brian is a multi-arts performer and artist, working in theatre, music, dance and visual arts. Examples of some artists journals will be available for viewing at the workshop and a list of  resources will be shared with participants to enhance their further exploration. *ephemera is a term for a broad range of items collected over time:  ticket stubs, buttons, airline passes, pieces of  ribbon and paper.
