CALL FOR ENTRY

The Color Pink (DRA Members Only)

Receiving: Sunday, Dec 28 and Monday, Dec 29 from 6-8pm. Artists have used the color pink throughout the centuries to evoke purity, hope, seduction, romanticism, and many other emotions. What can YOU do with the color pink? Will you make something sweet or sassy... sublime or shocking? This show challenges Del Ray member artists to use any shade of pink as little or as much as they like to create an artistic statement and evoke one or more of the many emotions associated with pink. Call for Entry at: DelRayArtisans.org/shows/calls/

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

Del Ray Artisans members are required to volunteer for at least 12 hours per year to support the organization and its mission. Below are some volunteer opportunities.

Time-Sensitive Requests

  • Join the Board of Directors
The 2015 Board of Directors begins serving on January 1st. We still have a few open Board Positions: Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, and Director of Fundraising Events. If you are interested in a position or in assisting a sitting director, contact the Nominating Committee (Derek Hall, Maria Illingworth, and John Messina) at Nominations@DelRayArtisans.org

Archives/Documentation

  • Event Photography
Seeking volunteers to take photos of Del Ray Artisans events for our archives and Flickr Photostream. Volunteer to photograph opening receptions, workshops, regular programs, or markets. We are hoping for around 10-20 photos from each event. Contact John at Archives@DelRayArtisans.org
  • Photographers Needed to Document Shows
Seeking volunteers to take photos of each piece of artwork in a show (as well as some overall gallery shots) for our archives and Flickr Photostream. Contact John at Archives@DelRayArtisans.org

Communications

  • Co-eNews Editor position open
This weekly email filled with DRA news and local calls for entries doesn't write itself! Approximately 2-hour commitment per issue; must either know Microsoft Word or HTML. Work with the current eNews Editor to divide up the weeks. Great way to "stay in the know" about local art opportunities. Contact Liz at enews@DelRayArtisans.org.
  • Edit The Well-Crafted Word newsletter
Interested in editing Del Ray Artisans monthly newsletter? Article submissions are due to the editor by mid-month; then your edited versions are due in one batch to the layout volunteer a few days later. To volunteer or request more details, contact Betsy at Communications@DelRayArtisans.org
  • Post our Events on assigned Online Calendars
Post approved DRA publicity materials on a specific online calendar. Each volunteer will have one or two calendars to update; instructions will be given. Must have internet access. Contact Dawn at Technology@DelRayArtisans.org

Curating & Curator Support

  • Join the Curating Team!
Volunteer to curate or assist a curator (hanging artwork, data entry / spreadsheets, distributing postcards, people skills). Experienced past curators especially needed, but all volunteers are welcome. Contact Lesley at Curating@DelRayArtisans.org
  • Help Curators design their Postcard
Postcards contain the vital show information: show title, dates, reception information, any special events and other information the curators wish to highlight. Help curators put together this file for the printer. Must have access to software capable of creating printer-ready files (e.g. Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) and be able to email documents. Helpful skills: creative design, content proofing. Contact Lesley at Curating@DelRayArtisans.org
