Primary Colors

Primary Colors Opening Reception (Tonight!)

Friday, January 3 from 7-10pm. Curator Betsy Mead challenged Del Ray Artisans and all local-area artists to think outside the box in using basic red, yellow, and blue to create their compositions. The only restrictions are that artists must not tint or mix primary colors. Artists may use white and black to highlight, outline or lowlight objects in their compositions. Artists may also use water or other colorless medium to thin or dilute the colors. Show runs through February 2.

Reincarnations Art Exhibit Opening Reception

Friday, February 7 from 7-10pm. Come to the opening reception of Reincarnations, an exhibit of art created from salvaged discards. Artists find form and design in items that would otherwise be thrown out and headed for the landfills. Featured within this show will be select Artcyclopedias, altered books from a set of encyclopedias that were about to be discarded. Show runs February 7-March 2. More information at: calendar.thedelrayartisans.org

Receiving: Sunday, Feb 2 & Monday, Feb 3 from 6-8pm. We cordially invite you to re-imagine, recycle, re-think, re-use, repurpose, re-invent and redesign something otherwise headed for the landfill for this juried exhibit. Artists are called to submit 2-D and 3-D artwork created from discarded or found objects with at least a hint of its original form(s) recognizable.
