FEATURED "GUAC" WORKSHOPS

GUAC

Marketing is NOT a Four-Letter Word

Monday, July 1, 10-12pm. Does the time you spend marketing your art seem like a waste? You'd much rather spend that time in your studio, right? In this workshop, learn the 5 crucial mistakes you might be making and the surprisingly simple way to begin making better connections online and off-line to build an interested audience hungry to buy your art. You'll begin to see how to think like a marketer without feeling or looking all pushy (and without losing your soul or wearing polyester suits). Instructor: Laurie McCarriar. Fee: $30. Register: DelRayArtisans.org/GUAC

GUAC

Image Play

2-Day Workshop: July 1 and July 3 from 2-6pm. About 10 minutes in simple meditation before writing an Intention Statement of what we are willing to stretch toward in our art-making. Then engage in an art-making workshop, such as drawing, painting, collage or sculpture. Each session involves one kind of art-making, then write a Witness Statement - a dialogue with our art product. Sometimes the artwork has something to say, sometimes not. At the end, each person reads their Intention and Witness statements and shares their artwork. Instructor: Rusty Lynn. Cost: $70 + $15 supplies. Register: DelRayArtisans.org/GUAC

GUAC

Playing with Resin

Monday, July 1, 6:30-9:30pm. Learn how to use resin in your art work. Come "play" with resin in a safe environment and learn the ins and outs of mixing resin and using it—as an adhesive, a covering, or the main medium. Instructor: Tracy Wilkerson. Cost: $30 + $8 supplies. Register: DelRayArtisans.org/GUAC

GUAC

Tell Your Story Online

Tuesday, July 2, 10-12pm. Simple Marketing Strategies for Artists: Why is it so important to add images and story into your marketing strategy? What is it about telling stories that foster connection between you and your best customers? How can you set up a do-able strategy to build your audience and sell your art? You'll discover not only what kinds of stories you must tell as an artist, but also how to leverage the power of images to grab people's attention online and off-line. Instructor: Laurie McCarriar. Cost: $30. Register: DelRayArtisans.org/GUAC

GUAC

Mosaic Art Piece

3-Day Workshop: July 2, July 5, and July 12 from 3-5:30pm. Learn about mosaic design, tools and techniques, and how to incorporate dinnerware, found objects, and jewelry into your art piece. Select decorative items to use. Design layout. Choose and blend colors. Work on patterns. Cut and shape pieces; glue them into place; and finish with grouting techniques. The instructor will provide a supplies list to all participants. Instructor: Sally Coler. Cost: $75 + supplies. Register: DelRayArtisans.org/GUAC

GUAC

Intro to Visual Journaling

2-Day Workshop: July 2 and July 9 from 8-9:30pm. Learn to let go of your inner critic and let the intuitive artist out and take over as you journal using images instead of words. You will learn tools to break away from feelings of "not being good enough" at drawing and will meditate, sketch, and doodle. Afterwards you will learn to look at your drawing and figure out what it is saying to you that words couldn't. The instructor will provide a supplies list to all participants. Instructor: Christina Perry. Cost: $40 + supplies. Register: DelRayArtisans.org/GUAC

Photo Tools & Editing for Artists

Wednesday, July 3, 10-12pm. Save Time and Money With the Right Tools and Apps for Taking Photos and Sharing Your Story: Is your computer full of photos named IMG_1023.jpg? Do you take photos of your art and then never use them because you think you need to buy (and learn) Photoshop in order to make them look good? Laurie McCarriar will get you started with the best (free) photo editing apps and services, and some easy tips for sizing, storing and sharing your images (and how to get started sharing your photos online more strategically so you'll get noticed in a crowded art world). Instructor: Laurie McCarriar. Cost: $30. Register: DelRayArtisans.org/GUAC
