CALL FOR ENTRY

Dot and Dash Art Exhibit

Receiving: Sunday, Jan. 27 and Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 from 6-8pm. All work starts with a basic dot or dash. What types of marks do you use to start your creative process? This show is an investigation about getting back to the basics. Deconstruct and reconstruct your unique art-making style to interpret the theme Dot and Dash. We are looking for area artists to create in their own unique style—painterly, graphic, realistic, or abstract—in two- or three-dimensions. For questions, contact the curators: Amanda Wright (arook20@gmail.com) or Colleen Dolinger (colleendolinger@gmail.com). Call for Entries at: TheDelRayArtisans.org/shows/calls.

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

Del Ray Artisans members are required to volunteer for at least 10 hours per year to support the organization and its mission. Below are some volunteer opportunities.

  • Office Help Needed
    • We have old newsletters that need to be scanned in so they can be "stored" in the website archives. This requires the ability to scan in multi-page documents (or save them as multi-page documents). This may take a few hours and can be done at home. Please contact Tracy at Gallery@TheDelRayArtisans.org if interested.

    • We need someone to inventory what is in the Historical Closet (archive notebooks, banners, etc). It would be great if that list could also be typed up when finished but the typing up part isn't critical :-) Should take about 1-2 hours but must be done during business hours and preferably when the Office Manager is working (Thursdays and Fridays 12-6pm). Please contact Tracy at Gallery@TheDelRayArtisans.org if interested.

    • Recording DRA phone messages once a month. This requires someone (with a clear voice) to edit 2 different messages each month, preferably a week before the Opening Reception of the new show. It takes less than an hour each month and can be done from anywhere with phone access. You will receive "training" and notes from the current phone message recorder. Please contact Tracy at Gallery@TheDelRayArtisans.org if interested.

    • Data Entering Help. We need a few people to type guest book entries into the Membership Database. You can put in as many or as few hours as you want but they must be done when the Office Manager is working (Thursdays and Fridays 12-6pm). Please contact Tracy at Gallery@TheDelRayArtisans.org if interested.
  • PHP Developer
Help enhance our web site! Contact WebCurator@TheDelRayArtisans.org for details.
  • Garden
Dig, weed, and learn other skills by professional landscape designer and artist, Pamela Underhill. No experience necessary. Meet weekdays or weekends for an hour or more. Bring a friend or come solo. It's fun, meditative, and builds muscles! Contact Pamela at: Underhill.Pamela@gmail.com or 703-507-4964.
