Gallery Painting PArty

Gallery Painting Party: Saturday, December 22, 2pm

In order to showcase all the new art in the New Year, the gallery walls need a new coat of paint! Everyone is invited to get messy and help paint the walls inside the gallery on Saturday, Dec. 22 at 2pm. There will be free pizza and beverages for all who come and help give the gallery a mini facelift for 2013. (Members: this is a fun way to satisfy some of your volunteer hours!) Questions? Please contact Lesley Hall at Volunteers@DelRayArtisans.org.

Year-end Giving

Year-end Giving

Del Ray Artisans depends on the support of its members and patrons to keep providing quality shows, events, and outreach. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to our non-profit arts organization today. Our current fundraising goal is to raise the money needed to pay for the new lighting system. You may give in person during gallery hours, by mail (checks payable to Del Ray Artisans, write "Lighting Donation" in the memo, and mailed to 2704 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22301), or online at DelRayArtisans.org/donate. Thank you for your support!

Del Ray Artisans members are required to volunteer for at least 10 hours per year to support the organization and its mission. Below are some volunteer opportunities.

  • Reception Help needed Friday night during the Holiday Market (Dec 14)
We need helpers (bartenders, food runners, front door greeters, etc.) at the reception on Dec 14 from 6–9pm. Volunteer for the evening or a single shift—every little bit helps! To sign up, contact Lesley (Volunteers@DelRayArtisans.org) or enter your name in a shift here.
  • Handcraft Holiday Ornaments to benefit Del Ray Artisans (Dec 14)
Help DRA raise funds for the new lighting that was purchased earlier this year by making and donating a handmade ornament or two. Drop off your finished handmade ornaments to the gallery. The last day to drop off ornaments is TODAY (Friday, Dec 14) from 12–9pm. Please sign your name on the back, so the purchaser knows it was crafted by you! Thank you for supporting Del Ray Artisans.
  • Baked Goods needed for the Holiday Market Bake Sale (Dec 14 & 15)
Time to start dropping off your baked goodies! Think cookies, brownies, muffins, loaves, cakes, candies and any of your favorite, homemade and delicious holiday goodies. Food donations MUST be individually packaged before drop-off. Please also include a list of ingredients on the package, so shoppers can choose wisely. You can drop-off baked goods TODAY (Friday, Dec 14) from 12–9pm or tomorrow (Saturday, Dec 15) from 10am–2pm. The bake sale benefits Computer CORE (computercore.org).
  • Artists: Want to demonstrate your craft or art? (Dec 15)
The Holiday Market layout has a gallery space for artists to do demonstrations on Saturday, Dec 15 between 10am and 4pm. You do not have to be a Holiday Market artist to participate! Demo spots are for 1 hour unless you want to sign up for 2 hours. Please make sure your demonstration is safe for spectators and not too messy. Bring your business cards / handouts to share with spectators, but please refrain from too much "sales pitching". To sign up, email Lesley (Volunteers@DelRayArtisans.org) or enter your name in a shift here.
  • Bake Sale Volunteers (Dec 15 & 16)
We are still in need of helpers to work 2-hour shifts at the Holiday Market Bake Sale on Saturday, Dec 15 (10am–4pm) and Sunday, Dec 16 (noon–4pm) during the Holiday Market. All you have to do is be at the gallery during your shift (come early or stay late to shop!), put on a happy face, and sell baked goodies and handmade ornaments to holiday shoppers! To sign up, contact Lesley (Volunteers@DelRayArtisans.org) or enter your name in a shift here.
