DRA ANNUAL MEETING with ELECTIONS is THIS SUNDAY,
October 16 from 6 - 8pm
Join fellow members for the latest DRA news, networking, and the election of next year's Board Members. Even if you are not considering being on our DRA Board, we still need your help to elect our willing volunteers. Those attending will also be the first to hear the "unveiling" of our 2012 calendar of shows! Our artist members will be able to start their planning now!
DRA will supply pizza, so please do us the great favor of RSVPing (only if you plan to attend), so that we will have a better idea when ordering this meeting's pizza pies. RSVP to Kathryn Brown, Director of Membership, at Membership@DelRayArtisans.org.

We need you to voice your opinion in DRA elections so, if you cannot attend on Sunday, we urge you to make a Proxy vote. Please do this by emailing your vote (you can vote yea or nay for the entire slate if you choose) to Gallery@DelRayArtisans.org by Friday at 6pm, or by calling the gallery at 703-838-4827 on Thursday (10/13) or Friday (10/14) between noon and 6pm. All proxies, by e-mail or phone, must be received by Friday at 6pm to be counted. The new Board will begin its duties on January 1, 2012.

Director of Communications
This Director is responsible for communications for the organization, including issuing the monthly newsletter, periodic emails to members and subscribers, and works with the Director of Technology on the DRA website. Communications is also responsible for public relations functions, including updating local events calendars, issuing press releases, posters, flyers, and invitations to shows.
Note: We have an active Communications Committee (Newsletter Editor, Eblast Editor and Web Posting Team that handle the majority of the tasks), but this committee needs a voice on the Board. Organizational and content editing skills helpful. This could be you!
Director of Fundraising
This Director is responsible for researching funding opportunities and preparing grants proposals. It advises the Board on outreach to local businesses and provides key leadership in setting financial targets. It also plans and carries out special fundraising activities for the organization. This position also works closely with the Membership and Community Representative directors.
Note: We have volunteers for the Fundraising Committee just waiting for a leader for guidance and direction. Organizational and social skills helpful. This could be you!
Director of Outreach
This Director is responsible for any event or activity in which DRA is reaching out into the community. Some activities/events include Art Camp, activities for all ages, educational curricula, First Thursdays and Art on the Avenue.
Note: We have a separate coordinator for Art Camp whom the Director of Outreach will manage. Art on the Avenue responsibilities are only for the DRA tent activities during Art on the Avenue—and not organizing the entire Del Ray Business Association event. This position is as big or small as you desire. Responsibilities overlap with Programs. Social skills helpful. This could be you!
