Art on the Avenue October 1, 10am-6pm

This annual, multicultural festival in Del Ray attracted over 50,000 people last year. On October 1, once again over 300 artists will share their artwork along Mount Vernon Avenue. During Art on the Avenue, DRA will present: artists at work. Every hour one or more artists will demonstrate their art (drawing, painting, sculpting, quilting, etc). DRA is seeking members to volunteer to demonstrate their work for one hour. The demonstrations will be in a 10' x 10' tent immediately outside the gallery. Artists MUST sign up in advance, MUST bring their own supplies (and/or visual aids such as samples of work in various stages), and MUST fit within the tent. DRA members may stop by the gallery on August 28 and 29 between 7-9pm to sign up.

Adopt-A-Park Litter Pick Up

We need help with park pick-up on weekends in November. Inspections are on Mondays, so Sunday is the best pick-up day but not a hard rule. Remember we get points for cleanliness that eventually translates into money for the gallery. If you are interested in fulfilling your 10-hour obligation outside, contact Marlin Lord at AdoptAPark@TheDelRayArtisans.org

Assistant Director of Curating Needed

[DRA members only] Work with Director of Curating, Drew Cariaso, as he guides our individual curators in mounting exhibitions for September, October and November. Coordinating our curators is fun, fulfilling and will help you grow as an artist. Plus you meet some fantastic artists. Seeing a show develop from artwork drop-off to hanging on the walls at our opening reception is an amazing experience. To join the team, contact Curating@TheDelRayArtisans.org
