Made In The U.S.A. Opening Reception – Friday, July 1, 7-10pm

Come meet the artists and mingle with friends new and old while viewing artwork inspired by the people, places and things that are America. The exhibit runs through July 22. Details at: DelRayArtisans.org.

Alexandria Art Market – Saturday, July 2, 10am-4pm

The market boasts amazing artwork from local artists, live music and great food. Located on the green space of the Del Ray Artisans' gallery in Colasanto Park. Musical performance by Mike Durham this Saturday, July 2 from 12-2pm. Upcoming markets will be held the 1st Saturdays of July, August, September and November 2011, 10-4 pm, rain or shine. Open Life Drawing Session in July

These sessions operate on a drop-in basis so there is no need to register in advance. Bring your supplies and join us at the gallery to draw or paint our live models.

• Wednesday, July 6 (11-1 pm, gestures; 2-5 pm, short/long poses)
• Wednesday, July 20 (6:30-9:30pm, long poses)

Partners in Art Group

Looking for a chance to get together with other creative people to discuss art and exchange ideas? Then come to a meeting of our cooperatively led Partners in Art group. You may find us engaged in a creativity exercise, enjoying a short demonstration or having in a lively art-related discussion. Through it all we will always be striving to inspire and encourage.

Do you feel overwhelmed with the deluge of junk mail and magazines that come in the mail? Well here's your chance to beat the paper avalanche. Come play with the Collage Cut Ups in a supportive environment that promotes an exchange of ideas, creativity and networking with beginner and experienced collage artists.

Get Sparked! Art inspired by writing, Registration due July 22

Join Del Ray Artisans and SPARK: art from writing/writing from art as we embark on an artistic journey that pushes boundaries. This show is unique for DRA: All art submitted must be created between July 26 and October 3, 2011 and done in response to a story or poem provided to you. Call for Artists: Greenbelt Community Center Art Gallery

Contemporary artists working in all media are invited to apply for curated solo and thematic small group shows in 2011 and 2012. Preference is given to artists who engage the public (any age group) in creative ways (workshops, contributing materials or content to the show, actions, performances, collaborations with community organizations, outdoor pieces, etc.). Artists, Crafters & Organizations Wanted, Hadeed Carpet Alexandria West End Art and Wine Festival – October 8 - 9

Approximately 90 juried artists from Alexandria and throughout the country will represent all facets of art. Only artists with original arts and crafts are eligible to apply. Approximately 25 handcrafters (i.e., a single item sells for no more than $125) and organizations (i.e., Art League, Animal Shelter) are also sought.
