Call for Volunteers

Seeking Volunteer for Yard Sale Coordinator

[DRA members only] DRA is looking for a Coordinator to plan and run our 3rd Yard Sale fundraiser! (What a great way to contribute your 10 hours of volunteer services a year!) Responsibilities include setting the date for the Yard Sale as well as coordinating dates/times for dropoff and pricing; directing volunteers for various assignments (Volunteers Director will provide the volunteers), overseeing the event itself, and ensuring all donated items are removed from the property after the Yard Sale is over (a charity truck pick-up can be scheduled). You will not be doing this by yourself - coordinators from past years can share their knowledge and lessons learned. This is a fun connection with the community AND it allows DRA members to clean out their closets a little, all to help DRA raise some much-needed funds! Please contact DRA.volunteers@gmail.com to express your interest.

Adopt a Park 2011

Thank you so much to all of you who have helped with our Adopt-A-Park program in the past. DRA has adopted the Colasanto Park, which is the parkland from the pool fence north to the intersection of Commonwealth and Mt. Vernon Avenues. This is a perfect way to fulfill some of your 10 hours of DRA volunteer commitment. Please contact Marlin Lord, Facilities Director, at MGLAIA@aol.com or 703-836-2724 to sign up for your weekend.
