Call for Artist Vendors: Application Deadline
EXTENDED — Final Week

Del Ray Artisans is embarking on its 2nd season of monthly outdoor art markets. These markets will give members an opportunity to sell their original handmade art work and provide them with consistent exposure to the community. Just a few spots available - Act quickly! Beyond Form at Signature Theatre

Beyond Form: Expressing Art Exhibit at Signature Theatre runs through June 12

This is a juried selection of pieces from the current abstract art show at the DRA gallery. This all media, abstract art show will be exhibited in the lobby gallery of Signature Theatre in conjunction with their run of "ART" by Yasmina Reza in which a white-on-white abstract painting plays a leading role!

Open Life Drawing Session

Wednesday, March 23 (11-1 pm Gestures & 2-5 pm Short/Long Pose) These sessions operate on a drop-in basis so there is no need to register in advance. Bring your supplies and join us at the gallery to draw or paint our live models. The fee for each three-hour session is $8 for DRA members and $10 for non-members. Open Call for Entry: It's Only Rock 'n' Roll But I Like It!

Workshop: Drawing the Clothed Figure with Alice Kale

Sunday, April 3 from 1-4 pm with optional discussion from 4-5 pm. Practice drawing the clothed model in a simplified manner intended to express the underlying human form. Drawing session will run from 1-4 pm. Refreshments and an optional group discussion on what we learned from 4-5 pm. Fees are $15 for DRA members, $18 for non-members. DCCAH Writing Competition - DC (NEW)

The 28th Annual Larry Neal Writing Competition - Deadline: March 28th. The competition commemorates the artistic legacy and vision of cultural understanding of Larry Neal, a renowned author, academic and former Executive Director of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities will accept Larry Neal Writing Competition applications from March 1st through March 28th at 5:30pm. Info: DCARTS.

DC AVON Walk for Breast Cancer - DC (NEW)

The Howard Ave. Arts Incubator is forming a team of artists, artisans and friends to participate in the April 30th to May 1st Washington, DC AVON Walk for Breast Cancer. The Incubator hopes to help walkers reach their fundraising goals with proceeds raised during a "Walking Wearables" show on April 23rd in the Incubator gallery. Art and Crafts Bazaar June 4-5 at Franciscan Monastery - DC (NEW)

There is no vendor's fee to participate, but a donation to the Monastery of your choosing would be greatly appreciated. Alexandria West End Art and Wine Festival 2011 - VA (NEW)

An upscale, two-day event that will attract juried art vendors from across the country. The Festival is scheduled for October 8-9, 2011 (Saturday 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.; Sunday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.), along public streets in the Cameron Station subdivision and adjourning areas of Ben Brenman Park, located in Alexandria, Virginia.
