     Recurring Programs            Calendar Calendar
Life Drawing Life Drawing Sessions
Usually held on Wednesdays every 2-3 weeks
These open life drawing sessions operate on a drop-in basis so there is no need to register in advance. The 11am-1pm session usually focuses on gesture drawing; while the 2pm-5pm session usually focuses on short and long poses. Grab your supplies and join us at the gallery to work from our live models. The fee for each three-hour session is $8 for DRA members and $10 for non-members. Two-hour sessions are $6 for members and $8 for non-members. For more information, contact: or download the 2012 Schedule
Collage Cut Ups Collage Cut Ups
Usually held on Tuesdays every 2-3 weeks
Do you feel overwhelmed with the deluge of junk mail and magazines that come in the mail? Well here's your chance to beat the paper avalanche. Come play with the Collage Cut Ups in a supportive environment that promotes an exchange of ideas, creativity and networking with beginner and experienced collage artists. For more information, contact:
Partners In Art Partners In Art
Usually held on Mondays every 2-3 weeks
Looking for a chance to get together with other creative people to discuss art and exchange ideas? Then come to a meeting of our cooperatively led Partners in Art group. You may find us engaged in a creativity exercise, enjoying a short demonstration or having a lively art-related discussion. Through it all we strive to inspire and encourage. This program is free of charge and open to all. For more information, contact:
Alexandria Art Market Alexandria Art Market
The first Saturday of the month in May, June, July, August, September and November
Outdoors next to the gallery in the adjoining Nicholas A. Colasanto Park, a variety of original artwork (painting, photography, pottery, jewelry, glasswork and more!) is for sale—rain or shine! For more information, contact: or visit TheDelRayArtisans.org/artmarket
Card Making Card Making Parties
Usually held on a Sunday every 2-3 months
At DRA's card making events you will find a mixture of artists and non-artist types eagerly gathered around tables creating greeting cards you would never find anywhere else. Each card becomes it's own work of art as participants "treasure hunt" through papers, images and all sorts of supplies (stamps, inks, colored pencils, paints, etc.) and ephemera for embellishing. These cardmaking parties turn out to be a "creative jam session" for all who attend. One has the option to donate the cards made to DRA or a small monetary contribution for time and supplies. No experience necessary.
ATCs Artist Trading Cards (ATCs)
Usually held on a Sunday every 2-3 months
Absolutely anything goes with Artist Trading Cards as long as the finished piece is only 2.5" x 3.5" in size. Any medium or application is suitable: fabric, paper, metal, photography, painting, drawing or whatever you can think of is acceptable. Once a card is created, it is traded or swapped with someone else for their ATC. ATC's are never sold. To learn more about ATCs and their history, check out the original Swiss site: www.artist-trading-cards.ch. At DRA's ATC swaps a theme is usually determined and participants bring a small amount of supplies and/or prepared cards and share technique and inspiration with other traders. Usually, pre-cut matte board or card stock is available. No experience necessary.

DRA's membership meetings are held quarterly to conduct official business—and also happen to be fun! Each meeting has a different program planned: in February, an Art Swap; in May, a special presentation; in August, a pie baking contest; and in October, elections.
