For the first time ever DRA gallery has been invited to be on the 2008 and 2006 Del Ray House and Garden Tour.  We are proud to show off our gardens to the community. This exciting project has been five years in the planning and execution.  In 2003 at a ceremony presided over by Alexandria Mayor Bill Euille, we were honored to receive the Beautification Award  for “Public Space Garden” at Alexandria's Lyceum.  All that hard work was beginning to pay off.  Our dedicated volunteers have weeded, planted and tended to the gardens that we have all come to enjoy.   Many have even donated beloved plants from their own gardens. 

Flowers and shrubs are blazing with color this year.  Our patio area has become a favorite retreat in the evenings during gallery openings and a destination spot for local families during the week.  And the new ceramic birdbath has been seeing some regular avian attendance.   

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to those who created this charming retreat and to our new volunteers who are committed to enhancing and maintaining it.
